How to brush teeth properly

Although many of us were taught how to brush our teeth properly when we were young, we stick to the same wrong brushing method and it leaves us behind in adulthood. Keep reading to find the right ways to brush your teeth.

Brush lightly: Hard brushing will damage the gums, so it's recommended to brush gently to avoid cutting teeth and gums. To brush your teeth thoroughly, use small gentle stoke, extra attention to the gum line, hard to back teeth and areas around the crown or other restoration.

Brush twice a day: It is recommended that you brush twice a day. In the morning and at night before going bed. When you brush twice a day you may feel relieved that you don't have food particles in your teeth. The morning brushing should remove the overnight plaque. Brushing at night helps to protect your teeth from bacterial attack.

Use an extra soft bristled toothbrush: Replacing your toothbrush on a regular basis is highly recommended and it's important to choose the right kind of toothbrush. The toothed or spoilt toothbrush will no longer work in cleaning the teeth. For most people, a powered toothbrush is a good option. This can do better for dental hygiene, especially for people who have difficulty brushing or have limited manual skills.

Use the right toothpaste: It can be quite challenging to choose from a variety of toothpaste options, which one is right for you. Ask your dentist or dental hygienist which toothpaste work for you .
